Abstract

Columnist M. D. Harmon acknowledges the constitutional right of citizens to openly carry firearms whenever and wherever they are not legally prohibited from doing so. At the same time, however, he criticizes the judgment of those who would openly sport weapons at events such as last month's Deering Oaks Family Festival, where Portland police confiscated such a weapon.
