Abstract

Forty-one boats competed in five different yacht races over the weekend. The races were all sponsored by the Portland Yacht Club of Falmouth Foreside, which is celebrating its 125th anniversary. The 60th annual Class A Monehegan Island Race was won by the Midnight Sun, skippered by Bob Andrew. The Black Owl, skippered by Ned Simonite, won the Class B Monehegan Island Race. In the Manana Trophy Race, Dave Jones skippered the Sunshine to victory. The winners of the Sequin Island and Halfway Rock races were the Talaria and the Denali, skippered, respectively, by Joseph Carney Jr. and Tony Jessen
