Abstract

Four Maine agencies have been awarded more than $1 million in federal Department of Housing and Urban Development grants, to be used to teach construction to high school dropouts. The Portland West Neighborhood Planning Council was awarded $697,756, which will hire a staff of ten to work with 30 youths. The other grantees are the People's Regional Opportunity Program of Portland, the Kennebec Valley Community Action Program of Waterville and Coastal Enterprises Inc. of Wiscasset. Details.
