Abstract

Editorial supporting the efforts of the Portland Water District to acquire all land within 1,000 feet of Sebago Lake and its tributories that lie within two miles of the district's water intake pipes. The goal is to prevent contamination of the water in the Lower Bay, from which 21 million gallons of water is drawn to supply the 171,000 residents of the Greater Portland area.
