Abstract

A proposed six-month ban on new construction in Gorham has caused the number of applications for housing permits to soar to 33 in July, compared to six last month and three in July of1993. Seven applications were received in the first half of August, a number well above normal. On August 2, the town council voted 6-0 to send the issue of planned growth to its Ordinance Committee for study.
