Abstract

The U.S. Small Business Administration yesterday announced a new program that will allow small businesses in Maine to obtain loans of up to $100,000 while using loan applications as short as one page. The program, called the Low Documentation Loan Program, will initially be offered by 23 Maine banks, and loans will be guaranteed up to 90 percent of the loan amount. The program could greatly benefit the state's economy, since around 90 percent of the state's businesses are considered small businesses. Details.
