Abstract

The library building committee designing a new branch library for Deering Center yesterday endorsed a plan that will balance the needs of adults and children, rather than the stripped-down version geared primarily toward children. The committee voted for a proposal that includes a 700-square-foot expansion that will connect a rear garage. The facility at 377 Stevens Avenue will have 7,500 books for adults, 2,000 for children and reading areas for both. Details.
