Abstract

The 177-foot, three-masted Gazela, a square-rigged sailing ship built in 1883, yesterday left Portland Harbor for Deering Pier in Bath. The ship was used through the 1960s to haul cod off the Grand Banks of Newfoundland, and will be at the Maine Maritime Museum for a three-day visit.
