Abstract

Thirty Maine teachers this week attended a five-day seminar at Bates College in Lewiston sponsored by the Holocaust Human Rights Center of Maine, where they learned about approaches to teaching about the Holocaust. Around 150 teachers have taken the seminar in recent years, and most have gone on to integrate Holocaust studies in their curricula. Linda J. Voss, 41, a teacher at Winslow Junior High School, teaches a seven-week course about the Holocaust and human rights, and has won national honors for her work. Details.
