Abstract
Nancy MacKinnon Sullivan, 56, a fifth-grade teacher at Portland's Lyseth School, yesterday was awarded the prestigious Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award. Sullivan, a teacher for 31 years, was among five Maine teachers and 150 nationwide to receive the award, which comes with $25,000. Philip A. Downes of the James H. Bean School in Sidney, Idella Harter of the Western Avenue School in Auburn, Marvin N. Higgins of the Rockport Elementary School and Karen E. Johnson of the New Suncook School in Lovell are the other Maine winners. Details.
