Abstract

Westbrook school superintendent Edward Connolly yesterday said the school committee will be asked to spend roughly $65,000 to hire 19 bus monitors to ride with youngsters. The move is in reaction to the August 31 incident in which Cheryl M. Lowell, a bus driver with a load of first- and second-graders, was charged with operating under the influence of prescription drugs. Details.
