Abstract

The United Way of Greater Portland yesterday kicked off its 1994 campaign with a walk followed by a rally in Portland's Monument Square. Fourteen companies and eight nonprofit agencies announced that they had raised $1,405,358 as part of the Pacesetter Campaign. Around 6,000 people attended the rally, during which Lew Colby of WCSH-TV read the names of the 150-plus companies and agencies participating in the campaign. Details.
