Abstract

James Rogers, 30, a former Portland city worker now living in New York, has filed suit in Cumberland County Superior Court, charging that Casco Northern Bank failed in its duty to protect him from the criminal conduct of an employee. Rogers on October 15, 1993, cashed his paycheck at the Casco Northern Bank branch off Congress Street in Portland, and received doctored bills from the bank cashier. After attempting to deposit the money in another bank, he was arrested, and ended up spending three days in jail. Details.
