Abstract

Roger H. Stricker, the state's top drug enforcement agent, yesterday used the arrest of William Carvell, 49, of Lyman, to plea for the restoration of funds for pot-searching helicopters. Acting on the tip of an informant, agents this week arrested Carvell and seized 479 marijuana plants, worth an estimated $1 million on the street. Carvell, on probation from a drug-trafficking conviction five years ago, was charged with aggravated trafficking.
