South Portland Deputy Fire Chief Mike Haskell yesterday said a new schedule at the high school that has all 961 students eating lunch at the same time creates a potential fire hazard. Jacqueline G. Soychak, principal at the school, said there is no reason to abandon the new schedule because the school will not permit more than the allowable number of students in the cafeteria at one time.
