Abstract
Jonathan Rietman, an arbitrator, on Friday ruled that the town of Cumberland was unjustified in firing former police chief Leon Planche over accusations that he was drinking on the job in October 1992, and said Planche should get his job back immediately. Planche yesterday said that he will go to the office as police chief of Cumberland today. Kenneth M. Cole III, lawyer for the town, said there will be a special town meeting tonight to decide what action to take. Details.
