Abstract

Maine's four gubernatorial candidates yesterday addressed a sparsely attended forum sponsored by United We Stand America/Maine, the state chapter of Ross Perot's political organization. Independent candidate Jonathan Carter served as a target for the other three candidates, who challenged the practicality of Carter's proposals of raising the income tax on the wealthy and increasing state aid to local schools.
