Abstract

Chester E. Homer III, 43, of Kennebunkport, executive vice president of Tom's of Maine, last week purchased Shawnee Peak from a group of investors for an undisclosed price. The ski area, Maine's third busiest with more than 100,000 skiers a year, had been listed for sale since January at $1.35 million. Homer plans to refurbish the main lodge, construct a courtyard at the base of the lodge and implement an afternoon grooming program to improve afternoon and evening skiing. Details.
