Abstract

The Farmers' Almanac, currently in its 178th year of publication, is launching a campaign to encourage good deeds by promoting the recognition of the kindness that people show each other. The new almanac, the first under the stewardship of Peter Geiger, is an expanded version that will be sold at retail stores at $2.95 a copy. Geiger became editor after the April death of his father, Ray Geiger, who edited the almanac over a 60-year period during which circulation rose from 86,000 to 5 million. Details.
