Abstract

MBNA Corp. of Delaware, the nation's second-largest credit card lender, yesterday announced that it will open a telemarketing center in Portland employing 300 people. The move is part of a company plan to add 1,200 jobs in Maine, for a total of 2,000 employees statewide. MBNA has agreed to lease 20,000 square feet of space in the Andover College building at 901 Washington Avenue, and plans to expand its Camden facility and establish satellite offices in two unidentified communities in the state.
