Abstract

MBNA Corp. of Delaware, which recently opened customer service centers in Camden and Orono, is considering opening an operation in Portland. Virginia Hildreth, the city's economic development director, said the firm is considering a 20,000-square-foot facility, but declined to reveal the number of employees that might be involved. MBNA had $14.2 billion in managed loans on June 30 of this year, a 34.6 percent increase over the same period last year, and added 2.9 million credit card holders during the year. Details.
