Abstract

U.S. District Court Judge Gene Carter yesterday signed a new consent decree governing services for some 1,100 past and present residents of the Pineland Center. The new decree, which replaces the original decree signed in 1978, focuses on community-based services and covers areas such as crisis prevention and family services. Mickey Boutilier, chairman of Pineland's Consumer Advisory Board, yesterday remained skeptical about whether the state will abide by the new decree.
