Abstract

Cumberland County departments have asked for $17.3 million in 1995, a 23.8 percent increase over the 1994 budget. The sheriff's department, alone is proposing that its budget be increased by about $2.4 million--45 percent--in order to hire an additional forty-one corrections officers to staff the new county jail. The district attorney would also like to increase her current budget of $604,114 to $907,646 next year, and the emergency management agency wants a $149,544 increase in its current budget of $243,537. These and other requests must still be reviewed and are subject to change.
