Abstract

Located in Windham, Crossroads for Women, the state's only live-in substance-abuse treatment center exclusively for women, will soon become one of the only treatment centers in the nation that allows children to come into treatment with their mothers. This will remove a major barrier for many women who would like treatment but are unable to accept it because they have no one to care for their children. Crossroads, established in 1974, plans to build an addition that will allow up to eight children to stay with their mothers during their 28-day residency program. Details.
