Abstract

Consultant E. John Tomkins yesterday told the Westbrook Area Economic Development Corp. that a municipal electric utility could save residents up to $6 million annually. Tomkins said a typical municipal electric utility customer could pay between 6 and 7 cents per kilowatt-hour, compared with the current average rate of 11.2 cents charged by Central Maine Power Co.
