Abstract

U.S. Senator William Cohen is urging the federal Base Closure and Realignment Commission to consider the economic consequences of closing the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery. The secretary of defense by March 1 will make his recommendations to the commission on which defense installations to shut down.
