Abstract

Officials in Cape Elizabeth are proposing a Community Wide Substance Abuse Policy to combat substance abuse, which a survey indicated is pervasive among teenagers. Under the policy, police would search school lockers on a moment's notice, store owners would routinely call police when they suspect a customer of buying alcohol for minors and clergymen would speak about substance abuse during church services. The proposed policy will be presented to the town council for approval within the next couple months. Details.
