Abstract

Eugene van As, chairman and chief executive of Sappi Ltd., said his company has no plans to close the S. D. Warren mill in Westbrook or selling Maine timberlands to developers. Van As qualified the statement by saying his company was allowed only two days to visit each Warren site during purchase talks, so there are no precise plans for when Sappi takes over the Warren operations.
