Abstract

Bangor Hydro-Electric Co. is offering the Matagamon Dam on Grand Lake Matagamon for the taking. Five other storage dams across northern Maine have been accepted by lake associations, state agencies and private owners. The state fisheries department is looking into a possible takeover of Matagamon Dam, which is sandwiched between Baxter State Park on one side and Penobscot Indian land on most of the eastern side.
