Abstract
The Portland City Council yesterday voted 7-1 to renew the nude activity, liquor and entertainment licenses held by Mark's Showplace, the topless nightclub on Portland's Riverside Street. Portland police say in May two topless dancers at the nightclub violated the city's obscenity law by simulating sexual acts, a charge the club is contesting in Superior Court. Councilors yesterday decided not to consider the alleged violations because of the court challenge. Details.
