Abstract

Reed & Reed of Woolwich and Flatiron Structures Co. of Colorado jointly submitted the lowest of six bids for building the elevated portion of the new Portland-South Portland Bridge. The figure of $43.9 million is considerably below both the $60 million budgeted by the state and the later estimate of $54 million. The work on the elevated portions of the bridge will include the concrete deck, steel underdeck and 21 piers. Details.
