Abstract

An official with Medaphis Physician Services Corp. yesterday said the availability of a new state worker-training program was a key reason why the company decided to create 500 jobs in Lewiston. The Maine Quality Center Program will provide the company with 400 workers trained in medical terminology, computer skills, technical reading and other entry-level skills, and will provide advanced training to 44 supervisors and assistant managers currently employed at the company's Lewiston office.
