Abstract
The battle for the Maine House seat from the Standish area is one of three closely contested elections in the Lakes Region. In a repeat of the 1992 District 43 election, Democrat Bruce V. Avery is attempting to unseat Republican Ernest C. Greenlaw. Also profiled are the candidates from District 38, Democrat Thomas Tyler and Republican Wayne R. Holmquist; Democrat Richard W. Thompson and Republican Henry W. Black in District 47; unopposed Republican G. Paul Waterhouse in District 46; and Democrat Carol A. Kontos and Repbulican Richard W. Davidson in District 39.
