Abstract
Obituary of Madeleine ("Maddy") Corson, 1937 - 2024, former Chief Executive of Guy Gannett Publishing Company, and philanthropist.
Granddaughter of Portland Press Herald founder Guy P. Gannett, and niece of Jean Gannett Hawley (1924 - 1994), Corson led and expanded the family-owned company until its sale in 1998 to Blethen Newspapers.
Corson was a longtime major sponsor of Children's Theatre of Maine, along with numerous Maine cultural causes.
