Abstract

Central Maine Power Co. (CMP) is considering using a "trap-and-truck" system by which migrating fish would be taken in special trucks around the Saco River dam works to spawning grounds upriver. The plan is an alternative to lowering the level of the Saco River, which was criticized by officials from Saco and Biddeford but proposed by CMP because it would be less expensive than building fish ladders.
