Abstract

Two sections of roof on Custom House Wharf collapsed under the weight of heavy snow, prompting the city to close part of the deteriorating structure to check its structural integrity. City inspector Hubert Irving narrowly escaped injury when a second collapse occurred while he was examining the initial damage.
