Abstract

Confronted by a severe budget cut, Kenneth Spalding, director of the Maine Conservation Corps, hopes to raise enough money in grants to provide equipment, recruitment and training costs for projects next year. The corps, which employes disabled and low-income youth to work at state parks and along mountain trails each summer, had its budget cut from $204,265 in 1993 to $62,716 for 1994. Brief details.
