Abstract

Central Maine Power Co. (CMP) officials have asked the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to halt consideration of the utility's proposal to lower the level of the Saco River to facilitate the passage of fish, apparently because of public opposition to the plan. CMP must now comply with a FERC order to begin building some sort of fish passageway.
