Abstract

A delegation of 26 Japanese officials from Aomori Prefecture are visiting the state this week for talks with government and business officials. On Tuesday officials for the town of Bath and the village of Shariki will sign a sister-city agreement to formalize the century-old connection between the towns, which stems from 1889 when a Bath-built ship wrecked off the coast of the Japanese village.
