Abstract

A deer rescued from Boon Island by a group of York County fishermen was found shot to death in the area where the men released it. Fred Mansfield, a fisherman from Kennebunk, engineered last Thursday's rescue, and was dismayed to discover that someone would shoot the deer out of season in an area clearly marked with "No hunting" signs.
