Abstract

John Leonard, the president of Maine Employers Mutual Insurance Co., yesterday told 350 business people attending a Portland Chamber of Commerce forum that they should concentrate on workplace safety and not worry about rates. If safety is improved, the rates will take care of themselves. Leonard was upbeat in his assessment of the recent reform of the workers' compensation system.
