Abstract

John L. Martin, who told the House of Representatives that he will not seek another term as speaker, now says he may step down this year instead of serving through 1994. Martin, who has been quoted as saying he would like to serve as the U.S. ambassador to Canada, reiterated his interest in that post on Wednesday. Related articles.
