Abstract

The Maine Department of Environmental Protection has denied an application from Applied Energy Services Corp. of Virginia to build a 180-megawatt, coal-fired power plant on the Penobscot River in Bucksport. Applied Energy has spent nearly $1 million over the past four years trying to obtain the permits necessary for the plant. Details.
