Abstract

The Maine Department of Transportation plans to test rumble strips, designed to wake dozing drivers who stray off the road, along a 20-mile stretch of Interstate 95 north of Old Town. More than 30 states have such devices, which are credited with reducing accidents 50 percent among vehicles that leave the highway. Details.
