Abstract

The University of Southern Maine and Westbrook College are each exploring the possibility of starting Division III football programs. One observer believes that 95 percent of the state's top high school football players are Division III prospects, and most are forced to look out of state for schools because of the high academic standards and specialized curriculum at in-state Division III schools.
