Abstract

The Maine Public Utilities Commission (PUC) wants to stop regulating the Portland Water District and other public water suppliers starting next year, allowing the commission to focus on higher priorities such as the state's electric, gas, and telephone utilities, as well as private water companies. The move would also save water districts and ratepayerss the fees paid to the PUC. Details.
