Abstract
The Maine House voted to limit the number of terms lawmakers may serve as leaders, placing at eight the maximum number of years a person may serve as House speaker or Senate president. The House also voted 75-58 in favor of a bill which would create a unicameral Legislature, far short of the two-thirds majority necessary to send the proposed constitutional amendment to referendum.
