Abstract

The Maine College of Art revealed its $6 million plan to transform the shuttered Porteous, Mitchell and Braun building into a college and art center with a 300-seat theater in the basement and an iron foundry in the penthouse. The college purchased the building for $525,000 after receiving a $150,000 loan from the Portland Downtown Corp. Details of plan.
