Abstract

A spokesperson for Georgia-Pacific Corp. says Canadian Pacific Ltd.'s plans to abandon its 350-mile rail link between Sherbrooke, Quebec, and St. John, New Brunswick, which includes 201 miles of track in Maine, could result in Georgia-Pacific putting another 11,000 truckloads on Maine's highways. Georgia-Pacific ships as much as 75 percent of its products by rail.
