Abstract

An official of Moody's Investors Service has informed the state treasurer, Sam Shapiro, that Maine has maintained its high bond rating, which translates into a low interest rate on $57 million in bonds to be issued next month. Maine has been rated A-1 by Moody's since 1983, the company's second-highest. Maine's ranking is exceeded by only seven other states.
